Hello!
I’m interested in expanding my skill set as a facilitator and diving deeper into how to lead trauma-informed writing workshops. I have substantial knowledge of interpersonal violence from previous work experiences, but I’ve never led a writing group specifically for this population. I’d love to offer my services to DV shelters and other related organizations. Are there any workshops or books folks recommend that could help me gain knowledge and confidence in this arena? Thanks!
Hi Hannah, I would be happy to invite you to join my Survivors’ Voices workshop with survivors of sexual violence. I also lead workshops at DV shelters and related organizations about would be glad to meet with you to share what has helped prepare me to lead these groups. Mary
Jenn Cross, who is an AWA facilitator, wrote a book called Writing Ourselves Whole in which she shares her story as a survivor. She also describes how she facilitates her workshops and provides examples of writing prompts. It is a wonderful resource.
