A few short weeks ago, we launched AWA’s Substack. It’s a place to connect with writers, discuss all things writing, and share the extraordinary work we do as facilitators and as an organization. If you haven’t checked it out, the link is https://substack.com/@amherstwriters?
We want to showcase the extraordinary writing generated in our workshops. That’s where we need your help.
Do you have writers ready to publish their writing? If so, we’d love it if you partnered with them on a short piece (less than 1,500 words total). You write about the prompt. The writer(s) provide a finished, revised, and polished version of the piece they generated in response to the prompt. You can see an example in Louise Bierig’s Getting Unstuck with the Writer’s Vacation Prompt
Not sure who might be interested? You can tell your workshop group about it and have interested writers contact you.
Upholding the AWA Method is at the heart of everything we do. Remember the confidentiality agreement—we need to ask the writer’s permission before we discuss writing they shared in the workshop.
We are accepting a small number of submissions. Our Submittable will close once we reach the maximum (there will be opportunities in the future).
